My family of three wanted to go for a relaxing holiday. We decided on Phuket because hubby and I have been there before. It was however, our first time in Andara, and definitely many more to come.

We booked the resort mainly based on recommendations by the travel agent from Fascinating Holidays. We did not regret our choice.

We were given VIP treatment the moment we alighted from the plane. We were pleasantly surprised to see my hubby's name on a placard. The staff then ushered through an express queue to clear the customs. Definitely a plus for us with my 15 months old girl in toll. The return flight was even better. We were once again brought through the express queue and then to the coral lounge to rest and relax while waiting for our plane. We did not have to worry about our girl being restless as there were enough toys and storybooks to keep her occupied for the two hours wait.

We had booked the 1 bedroom pool suite with private pool but was upgraded to their 2 bedrooms penthouse suite private pool. Seeing the room made us want to just spend the rest of the holidays within the four walls. The view from the room was breathtaking!

We did not want to leave the resort so we chose to have our meals at the Silk Restaurant and at times, room service. The food was good! We were initially quite worried that my little girl who is quite a fussy eater, would not be able to find any food to her liking but the opposite was true…She loved the food! The staff at the restaurant were great as well, making every effort to make you feel comfortable.

We are already making plans to come back here for the next holidays.

the best just keeps getting better

Back at Andara for a return visit and it keeps getting better. Service levels have definitely moved up a notch, as has the quality of spoken English, which has moved from acceptable to good.

The rooms are obviously still massive, well specified and elegant and the gym, pool and recreation staff are simply fantastic. I believe nearly every unit has it's own pool, ranging from plunge-pool sized to the 13m pools in the 4-bed units. I think the villa pools are even bigger.

They now have a fantastic tennis court with very high-quality partners to play with. Short of being an ATP player, I think these guys will keep you busy on the courts.

Silk, the main restaurant, has always served great Thai food (vindicated by the award they display at reception for best restaurant in Thailand by Thailand Tatler) but there European offering has improved considerably now they have slimmed down the offering to the basics. But to be honest, except for the occasional craving for a club sandwich or burger, you're really here to eat Thai food, aren't you?

New small touches such as wifi at the beach and in their cars are thoughtful and welcome.

We'll definitely be back.

beyond expectation

We booked 4 bedrooms pool residence but luckily we were upgraded to 4 bedrooms pool villa. The hotel pick us up from airport and send us directly to check in at villa 6. It was amazingly beautiful and huge! 2 bedrooms were decorated with flower for anniversary and honeymoon couples as requested.

In the villa, there are 2 air-conditioned living space and one out door, not included sala at the pool. The kitchen is also huge. There is everything you might need even espresso machine (you can bring your own coffee beans) I found it's a bit strange that there is no complimentary coffee in villa, just tea.

We have a stay-in maid (actually she is a chef) which is not included in our room rate. Her service is beyond expectation, we felt like if we were royal family. All staffs are so friendly and professional (this is important). We all had a very good time and we think this is really worth paying for special occasion of our family.

We ate at silk restaurant and order room service. Even price is a bit high but I have to admit that it's worth paying. As a local, I expected 'foreigner taste' Thai food but I think the taste is very well balanced, not too spicy and not too tasteless, and i know that is very difficult. If you ate at some restaurant in Patong beach before, this is nothing similar. It's far better. I also checked out other restaurants around the hotel and found that the price is not much different and hotel has much more variety of menus than other places.

We had lunch at the restaurant just behind of hotel's beach club. I think it's quite nice and not expensive. If you want a change, I think it's a good idea. There are also plenty of 300 Baht foot and Thai massage on the beach. If you don't like the heat, you can choose any shop along the road, there are plenty. There is 7-11 in front of hotel too. It's interesting to try some frozen Thai food if you can eat Thai level of spicy. I recommend Green curry rice, Kee Mao pasta (Pasta with pork and basil) and rice with pork (or chicken) with basil.

We had a chance to look at other residence and villa. I would say :
- The villa is like double size bigger then residence with better view and bigger pool.
- Some villas has special features like spa room or home theater, they are not all identical. So if you want to book a villa. You can ask the hotel your preference.
- Residence is actually big enough. Good point is that it's close to lobby, main pool and restaurant. You can go anywhere without calling hotel buggy.

We definitely will stay at this hotel again. My mother in law is already planning her next trip with her friends.

Simply the best

My family were staying at the Andara in early June.
It was our first trip to Phuket and we wanted it to be perfect.
Thus, my wife had booked andara for 3 nights and trisara for the rest of our trip in Phuket.
We were very impressed with the deco of the resort and layout of the villa. Especially block 5.
Above all, It was the Standard of service and staffing that differential Andara from the rest!
We were so swept away that we actually returned from the other resort to extended our stay to 6 nights.
Thanks again for the wonderful time!
My kids, wife and me will definitely be back!

I just wrote a very long review but accidentally closed the window. Too lazy to write it again but I would recommend Andara to anyone I know. I was here last year and came back again this year. Andara is everything you would expect from a luxurious resort and more!

The best resort we've stayed in Thailand

Stayed here with my family in Feb '11 in a Pool Suite Penthouse.

The suite is the best we've stayed in, ever! Extremely spacious, well equipped, and a fantastic rooftop pool with great views of Kamala Beach and the sea.

The gym is very good, with a great selection of workout equipment. The only small dissapointment was the rather slow service at breakfast.

We will be back!

Second Visit to Kamala Beach Paradise

This was my second stay at Andara Resort and this time we had a two bedroom penthouse pool suite and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay over the six days. I would highly recommend you stay at Andara and enjoy the pleasure of the resort. This time we attended a wine tasting with delicious appetizers just before dining in Silk the excellent restaurant at the resort.

I am looking forward to my next stay at this beautiful resort.

Well worthy of it's number 1 ranking!

We are on day 6 of an 8 day stay at Andara and it has exceeded all our expectations. My wife and I have stayed in some of the worlds best accommodation and would rate our Andara experience up there with the best. We are mid - late 30's traveling with our 2 year old son and my wife's sister. From the moment we arrived at Phuket airport using Andara's fast track service we knew we were going to experience a fantastic 8 days. We are staying in villa 411, a ground floor 3 bedroom pool villa with a great view through the palm trees to Kamala bay/beach. The room is very well appointed and larger than it looks on the website. Furniture and electronics (Bose) of the highest quality, a fully equipped kitchen with coffee machine, oven, cook top, double door fridge with ice maker and all you would ever want.

We have used the "in house" chef on 2 occasions so far and have been super impressed with the standard of food and service. You simply work out a menu that suits your tastes (Thai food is obviously recommended) with the staff/chef and leave the rest to them. Yesterday our chef arrived at 2.30 pm and started to prepare our meal for 7pm. We had prawns and chicken spring rolls for starter followed by Tom yum soup, lemon grass steamed snapper, soft shell pepper and garlic crabs, prawn and stir fried vegetables and mango sticky rice for desert. They cook, serve, set the table, and clean up all for about $250 US. Expensive by Thai standards but an experience you must try - food and service FANTASTIC.

Being low season the resort is doing some minor maintenance around silk restaurant but it is very discreet and has caused us no heartache at all.

When staying away from home I'm always concerned about how comfortable the bedding/linen will be - nothing worse than waking up each morning feeling like you have been sleeping on concrete.. The bedding at Andara is super comfortable and we love the pure white Linen so much we spoke to reception and they have arrange for us to purchase a sheet set to take home. Now that's service!

The beach club is only a few minutes away by beach buggy as outlined in other reviews. The buggy service is never more than a few minutes away and the beach beds and service also very good.

Had a 90 min massage yesterday with Aum - amazing. Very well appointed and very tranquil place to unwind.

In conclusion - if you are looking for the best accommodation/resort in Phuket with service that leaves you feeling very special then Andara is for you. Not cheap but neither are any of the finer things in life. This Melbourne family will return for sure!

Thank you to Andrew, Grace - your staff are the best in the industry.

we had the villas. Awesome experience... the service, the rooms, the space... just paradise. the ONLY glitch was serving the muesli in a tupperware...
... Just one other glitch is the price...

“Phuket's a Beauty Because of Andara”

I booked this luxurious trip and stay to celebrate my anniversary with my fiance. I have nothing but praises for this place. Although I knew that the rooms were going to be big, we were still extremely surprised at the sheer size of it. All that we needed were there and it came with a fully equipped kitchen. My fiance and myself had an impeccable time enjoying ourselves around the resort, lazing at our private pool and travelling out to many places around the island.

We want to thank Andara for this beautiful time!

Gorgeous Resort, feels like heaven - buuut . . .

Had a complimentary 3 night stay here for one of the suites. What an incredible place. Beautifully appointed rooms and solidly constructed buildings, you can tell they paid attention to detail when building this place. We were blown away by the sheer size of the suite, it is just like an apartment with a full-on kitchen! All-in-all it was a great experience. This resort has a ton of plus points about it, but only a few things that we found to be a bit in the "negative" column (and they are quite trivial for the most part and by no way put a damper on our experience).

One major glaring thing missing from this place is it being beachfront or a private beach. It is darn close to the beach, but its nothing special and exclusive, so if you are expecting a private beach for the prices you are paying at this place, look elsewhere. If it doesn't bother you then you will absolutely love this place.

The Staff: Fantastic, always helpful, always remembering who you are and any of your requests. I think because the resort was rather empty they had no problem remembering us but I get the feeling that regardless of capacity they still would provide the same excellent level of service. Whenever you called a buggy, there they were, and whenever you needed to get down to the beach, they were there.

The Food: One of the best Thai restaurants in Thailand, really a wonderful meal and they were quite lenient on the corkage charge (there was none!) for the bottle we bought in. I also did the cooking class with the chef and it was great! Worth the money I think. We did room service one night; western food. The pasta was bit overcooked and bland but the chorizo in it was decent; the pizza was great though. For breakfast which wasn't included, we motored on over to the Tesco-Lotus and got supplies and just cooked every morning in our suite which worked out totally fine. Food at the resort is also very reasonably priced we found. There are also a number of restaurants nearby that are quite good and within walking distance.

The Pool: Great place to lounge and soak up the sun. quality furniture and equipment. The only thing about the pool that was a bit odd was the water; it felt like it was a salt water pool (it wasn't, at least that's what I think), and it had a weird chemical tint to it. We both noticed it. This is fairly trivial and you can still swim in it but it was unlike anything we had experienced before.

The Spa: Relaxing, a bit pricey but with spas you get what you pay for in this world, one of the better massages I had.

The Beach: This is unfortunately something where the resort falls short as mentioned previously and hence the existence of the "buuut ....." in my title. If you want something exclusive with a private beach with ultimate luxury, you will need to go somewhere else, otherwise you will just get ultimate luxury which isn't bad at all! Andara does have a "beach club" on the main beach in Kamala, but it is by no means something super exclusive (it is just an area on the public beach with chairs and some service staff reserved for Andara guests) and its a short 3 or 4 minute ride there in a beach buggy. The good thing is Kamala is not a huge town; its nice and quaint but if you are looking for exclusivity for a beach I'd recommend somewhere else. The beach didn't really bother us, we didn't venture down there for long durations during our stay and spent most of our time luxuriating at the resort.

Tips: Try to stay in residences 2 and 3. They are angled and face away from the bay and towards the ocean. I reckon they have better views. We were in residence 5 which faced the bay and the town to the right, it didn't really look out to the ocean as much. Residence 1 looked to be near the road so I would try to avoid that if you can. The villas are a different story, and they all looked to be facing the ocean. They looked really awesome and were nicely built into the hillside.

All in all, I rate this a Very Good stay for a number of reasons: 1) the staff, 2) the thai food, 3) the room and 4) the luxury factor.

A great trip, we were terribly sad to have to leave!

Flawless, thanks to the staff

Thank you Jenny, Mah, Eak, and Orn for giving a great stay. The villa was amazing with a stunning view of the beach and mountains. The nice cold rooms helped keep us cool from the hot temperature of Phuket, but nevertheless was an amazing villa.

Does it get any better than this?

We booked over the Internet direct with the hotel. We choose Andara over and above the other 5 star hotels on the island due to the space that the rooms offered. We also booked the VIP airport service which I highly recommend. The transfer was fantastic-we were whisked through passport control with all our bags taken care of into a 4X4 with water and cold towels. The driver was excellent as we have a young child and the roads and drivers in Thailand can be a bit scary. We stayed in a four bedroom villa. What can I say it is the most impressive villa we have every stayed in. We had a 15m infinity pool, amazing views from all bedrooms and bathrooms, a games room plus a live in maid and cook. Our chef was excellent and so was the maid. Jenny who looked after us during our stay was wonderful. We kept pinching ourselves thinking it was dream that we going to wake up from. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. We have stayed at many top resorts including the Emirates Place in Jan 2011 and this was a much better experience. The service is so genuine.

We ate at the Silks restauant 2x and it was wonderful. But we had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the villa most days because the chiefs cooking was so wonderful. We did not have to lift a finger.

We also went on the yacht which again I highly recommend. The service was amazing. My daughter loves pasta so the yachts chef made it for her specially.

Indicative of the service, my daughter dropped the pen from her Nintendo DS down the lift shaft, and without saying anything the staff called in the lift engineer and returned it to her the next day. Very impressive.

Stunning residence...mostly perfect

Went with two young children( 4 and 1.5years). The residence is absolutely top class....I have been to many luxury resorts around the world and it's prob one of the best. The amount of space is amazing and is perfect for families.

The location is also fantastic if you are after a quiet and relaxing holiday, although not that far if you want a night out either. The beach club is well organized with plenty of space and the service is excellent from the staff there....with cold towels, water and fruit provided regularly.

Silk restaurant serves the best Thai food ive had anywhere.....not the cheapest in phuket obviously but I think it's well worth it. The blue swimmers crab curry and the silken tofu are the highlights.

There was one significant problem tho during our stay. During one night of the stay at around 930pm, after the young children have fallen asleep. I was greeted with continous extremely loud explosions right outside my residence and the children woke up in complete hysterics. I was shocked to discover that these were major fireworks( professional grades fireworks ) that was being let off from the balcony of the silk restaurant for a bday party which is right in front of my residence. I think that guests should be certainly be warned ahead of time especially with the young children staying. Spoke to management the next day and was told it was not lit from silk but next door although all the staff in the restaurant confirmed it was from silk. A very disappointing response from management.

All in all it was a wonderful holiday. Despite the fireworks problem, I would highly recommend this resort to everyone esp for families.

Wonderful resort

Luxurious resort, beautifully decorated. Stayed in a huge four bedroom pool suite with a spectacular view of the Kamala beach. More suitable for couples and families who are looking for a quiet relaxing time. The Thai food at the Silk restaurant is one of the very best in Phuket. Service is good. Staff always smiling and try their best to accommodate you. English is a bit lacking especially when communicating over the phone. Special mention to recreation staff "M", who was a very good tennis hitting partner.

Perfect Thai resort - private, charming, relaxed

We enjoyed every moment of our 5 night stay at Andara - from the superbly designed lobby, hotel, villas and pool to wonderful food and most importantly exceptional staff. The Andara team could not have been more gorgeous - smiling, helpful, natural and a delight to see everyday. The gym here is fantastic - one of the best I have ever used in any hotel worldwide - and the huge size of our 2 bedroom villa and large private pool as well as the main pool exceeded every expectation. We enjoyed the food at Silks Restaurant within the resort very much and also a day at Catch beach club in Surin Beach as well, and will definitely return to Andara again soon. The guests were a diverse mix of Asian and European couples with and without children, gay-straight, young and no over run kiddie pools - but at the same time very comfortable for us to feel welcome with our 3 kids.

Truly One of the Best

First stop in a trip around the world. Stayed for 4 nights in late March. We could not have picked a more perfect place to begin our trip. Pulled up after 4 flights from Toronto including an 18-hour leg from LAX to BKK.

We were impressed from the moment we pulled up to the impressive lobby. The check in agent simply asked us to take a seat and said that they have been expecting us. From that moment she took care of everything including taking us to our room and showing us around the lovely resort.

We had a suite in Residence #5 which is one of the furthest from the lobby. It was absolutely beautiful and had everything we could ever want including the infinity pool and stunning view of Kamala bay. Our 4 night stay was pure luxury. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. Unfortunately we had some rain during our stay but we were not bored for one minute as we enjoyed the spa (great treatments), the steam room as well as a Thai cooking class. The restaurant is also very good with a good selection.

In our opinion, the language barrier among the staff is a non-issue. Everyone we spoke to had no issues understanding our requests. We have been to Thailand many times and know that English is not the first language among the Thai people. That said, the people go out of their way to provide world class service. The Andara staff has been among the best we have seen and we felt like we are the only people at the resort for the special attention that was paid to us. The restaurant staff (especially Anne) remembered our names from the first day and welcomed us by name every day thereafter.

We had a tour of the Villas that are also on the property. We saw a 6-bedroom villa that is absolutely stunning. The design, detail and view was spectacular.

A special thanks to the Executive Chef (Oy) who went out of her way during the cooking class. We truly appreciate your hospitality.

Cannot wait to return! Would not hesitate to go back in the future.

Stunning accomodation

I stayed at the Andara last year when they still had a lot of construction work going on. So it was very nice to return and be met with quiet luxury rather than jack hammers. We had 3 complimentary nights to enjoy Andara at its best. Unfortunately, the staff still need to work on their check in manner as it was a brusque, "Welcome, passport and visa card please."
However, the rooms are still stunning. Beautiful furnishings, with a well appointed kitchen, dining room with 6 chairs, lounge area with sumptuous sofas and large flat screen TV. Love all the wooden floors and features, lots of tasteful statues, silk cushions, and great sound system. Did have a strange moment when the automatic curtains decided to open at 2:00am all by themselves -quite scary. Found the remote on the other side of the room when 10 minutes later they closed all by themselves too! Very odd. Maintenance came the next day but were perplexed -it didn't happen again.
Anyway, there was a bottle of Moet to welcome us back and to apologise that our previous experience was not so good. Nice touch! This time we were in residence 3 which was fairly private. From the pool you could see people in the restaurant but otherwise it was not really overlooked. Last time, had a penthouse pool suite with the pool on the roof. This time the pool was on the same level which was way better. It was great to be able to pop from the lounge area to the pool without having to climb a spiral staircase. Had a great time by the private pool and really relaxed. Didn't use the beach club as Kamala beach is a pretty busy beach and prefer the tranquility of the private pool... which thankfully this time was very tranquil. Ate at the Silk restaurant which was good and offered good service. However, the service in the rest of the hotel is still lacking. Several telephone calls to the front desk and house keeping were not understood. I booked a taxi to the airport at reception the night before departure. At check out they seemed to have no knowledge of it, shuffled a few papers and said, "ahh taxi to Phuket Town." Errr, no airport please." Got to laugh. I know that the staff are working on their level of English and wish them all the best as this resort is stunning but still lacks that extra touch to make it first class. However, had a very enjoyable stay. Thank you Andara.

We are guests of our son and his wife, so cannot comment on value. Even though it rained the first three days we have been here (unusual for the end of March), the place is stunningly beautiful, the villa is huge and perfect (we have Marriott time shares in Hilton Head Island US and love them, this is amazing. The staff is wonderful. They are always offering to be helpful and are among the friendliest we have ever encountered. The gym is well provisioned (more than one elliptical would be helpful. Two employees deserve special thanks: Madie the driver and Pueng, a waitress.

Had the greatest stay at Andara when I stayed last year, looking forward to visit Andara Resort again this year. Can't wait to meet the kind employees who always try to provide a very peronalized service, the wonderful accomodation, the modern gym and the pool side.

We really liked Andara, which is a very well managed hotel with very high service ambitions. We only stayed for two nights and only used the hotels own restaurant. Even though the food was of a high quality, a longer stay would probably require trying some of Kamalas restaurants for variation.

I can strongly recommend the SPA - very nice!

Andara villas are heaven

Spent 9 days in paradise. The staff in the villa were just fantastic, with everyone including the 3 small kids (8 months - 3.5 years).

If you want to get a perfect break from everything and just chill this is perfect.

Leaving Paradise

We have been here for a week and Andara has lived up to our expectations, high though they were. We are staying in a penthouse pool apartment and it is wonderfully done, including many local pieces as well as 3 Bose sound systems, 3 TV's and Riedel wine glasses. Our pool is great but we have spent most of the time on the beach. The shuttle to the beach has worked well with only brief waits. The beach is public and very busy but the Beach Club provides great loungers and excellent service. If you want a quiet beach experience though go elsewhere!

Silk Restaurant has excellent food although of course more expensive than locally. We have used the hotel car to take us elsewhere for meals and that has worked well for us. The cost is about twice that of a local service but well worth the difference in our view.

We have also made use of the gym and tennis court and the staff have been fantastic. The same can be said for the spa, quality but at a price.

The resort is quiet as there are only a limited number of apartments. Night life will need to be found elsewhere (thankfully!).

Problems? As noted by others the resort is on a fairly busy road which does quieten considerably at night. We stayed in Residence 1 which is closest to the road and being a light sleeper I was concerned. It has not bothered me at all. However, I think we have the benefit of being on the top level and the ground level is likely to be different.

On the question of pools, we paid up for the penthouse after having read of pools being in the shade. My guess is the ground floor pools would not see much sun so if you want to stay at your own pool it is worth considering paying the extra.

And then the mystery sewerage smell mentioned in another review. We came back one evening to find the second bedroom smelling terribly. Once the aircon was off, it cleared immediately. We left the aircon in that room off for the rest of the stay as the room was well serviced by other units in the apartment, but there does appear to be an issue.

In summary, not inexpensive but you certainly get what you pay for! Luxury, fantastic service, great views and a wonderful stay. We hope to return soon,

this our second visit was even better than last year

Best resort ever!!

This was our second visit, December (Christmas) to January (New Year) service has improved greatly and was far more polished,(as it was soft opening last time we visited Andara,) i don't understand someones comment about non English speaking staff as all service staff had adequate English. Our villa was spotless and the housekeeping faultless. The Pool is huge and with heaps of spare sun lounges, towels, chilled water and cold lemongrass scented face clothes. Grace the director of guest services was very helpful an asset to the resort. Beach Club has been upgraded, more beds and a permanent structure, planter box's made it fell very private, free fast shuttle service always 2min away, SILK wow... now with Italian menu option as well as modern Thai fine dining and a breakfast buffet, an amazing GYM, my wife said her visit to the Andara Spa was superb, the general manager always walking around ....we even met the owner on Christmas Eve and again on New Years Eve Allan Zeman, very cool guy. watch out for the local taxis as they are a rip off, ( use the hotel transport, Safer..) As we were leaving there was a brand new 7eleven open right on the corner 2 minute walk from lobby handy for little bits and pieces, in summary would still recommend very highly, 100% rest and relax

Stayed December 2010, traveled with family

“Classy, stylish hotel with excellent service and amenities”

This resort is essentially made up of owner residences, so the clientelle and upkeep are superb. The villas & rooms are gorgeous with tip-top furnishings, decor and amenities. The pool area is beautiful, the spa is divine, the restaurant is good, but there's only one, so can get a little boring after a while and the local village is pretty rough, so you have to get in a taxi to decent restaurants and the taxis aren't cheap. But the hotel itself, including the staff and management are first rate and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending it. We had the best New Years Eve party ever. Its not on the beach though and although the hotel states it has a beach club, this is smack right in the middle of a public beach and you are housed between everyone else. If that isn't important to you, then stay around your own villa or hotel pool and you'll be quite happy.
The hotel doesn't have a lounge bar per se, so there's not much to do after dinner other than retreat to your own villa.

“The Best!”

The largest and best equipped apartment we have ever stayed in, ample space for 2 couples and beautifully decorated. We had booked a 2 bed pool villa but were upgraded to a 3 bed with rooftop infinity edge pool. The restaurant was excellent with a wide variety of choice. Not surprisingly the Thai food was much better value and the Thai tapas was fantastic. When we had thoroughly exhausted the options, Grace recommended a great local restaurant right on a beach which we would never have found ourselves. The resort provides a shuttle to their private beach in Kamala itself if you want the beach experience. Spa was good too. We've been to many resorts in Thailand but can honestly say this was the best! Probably not the place if you want exciting nightlife or non-stop shopping but for some luxury relaxation, this is it.

“The perfect villa” Andara Resort and Villas

I visited Phuket for a 4 day business meeting with 5 colleagues. We rented a villa with 6 bedrooms and a big enough pool. The villa also had 2 huge living rooms, a large gaming room, an outside dining terrace and a seating area. The master bedroom had a patio of its own with sundeck chairs and a rotating round one, plus the obvious walk-in wardrobe, make-up table and acre-size beathroom with a bathtub with a view. The price we paid per room was comparable with that of a hotel room in one of the better hotels in Phuket. But for us this was a much better alternative. We could work daily in the dining terrace with a stunning view over Kamala bay. When we needed to split into teams, there was enough space for us to work separately.
Currently I spend over 100 a nights a rear in business hotels, plus our family vacations. Therefore I believe that I know the definition of quality and service.
The quality of the wooden details impressed me even if the house was already 5 years old. Such quality work is seldom visible in Asia. The rooms were huge and had antique looking decor. I never bothered to look closer. All furniture and decoration items were carefully selected and of best materials.
I was equally impressed by the friendliness, patience and professionalism of our own 24/7 chef and villa attendant. We ordered breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. They then went to buy the items needed and prepared our meals as we wished. And we were not shy. We normally had 6-8 course meals including starters and desert. And amazingly this cost us some 30 USD per person per day excluding alcohol, including everything else. Normally I try to eat the best where ever we go. This time we hit jackpot and our cook Khun Sara made us the best Thai food show sequence I have experienced. Reception and departure was smooth. The villa manager came and visited us personally every time a new person checked in and before we left.
Some small thoughts of improvements: Getting connected to the Internet was a challenge in certain areas of the villas. A Buddhist told me that it is not normal to have a Buddha statue in the bedroom, because he might see what is going on there. Power outlets were not optimal for laptop users. Same problem both inside in the huge living areas and outside in the patio area. The seating area was very comfortable and it was not so nice to sit there, because there was no view. Furthermore the water pump from the neighbor’s pool was noisy. Hint: Order your first day food in advance.
Also note that you are dependant on transportation and be prepared to walk the steep stairs as the villa can be in three levels. Some of the villas were quite far from the sea, but the hotel had a private area on Kamala with complimentary transport there. We did not use the beach club services.

The hotel is fantastic. The staff cannot do enough and are genuinely friendly, polite and respectful. Service levels are the best we have ever experienced; the staff seem to know what you want before you do! Kamala Beach is only a few minutes away (Andara resort provide a free drop off and pick up service) has a number of good restaurants and friendly bars. We are already planning our next trip!

“THE place to stay in Kamala.”

I had visited Andara when this phase was still under construction in September 09, and at that time I vowed to stay when it was completed. We spent 8 nights in a 3 bed terrace apartment (we had booked two bed but nothing was available when we arrived) and enjoyed every minute. Comfortable, elegant surroundings made us feel very much at home; attentive gracious staff abound. There was a need to move to another room because of some noisy maintenance work in the apartment above which was spoiling the tranquility of the place; we were duly moved but, frankly, the first apartment commanded a better view of the lovely Kamala Bay. The apartments are equipped and furnished to a very high standard and super comfortable beds! The food at Silk is - as one has come to expect - of an exceptional standard. However, being the only restaurant at the resort it is rather limiting, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby (Rockfish is a little gem and is just across the road) also at Surin and Da Maurizio / Baan Rim Pa on the way to Patong. We had need to call a Doctor, which was done speedily by the front desk staff, and he spoke absolutely perfect English and was thoroughly charming. The next day a small bouquet was delivered with a Get Well note from the staff! Typical Thai graciousness! Would I stay again at Andara? Most certainly and particularly now that the teething problems of construction will be well and truly over. Tranquility reigns at Andara!

“We did not want to leave!!”

We stayed in a 2 bedroom pool suite and from the moment we entered we thought we were in heaven. The view, the private pool, the brilliant design and thai artefacts made our stay absolute bliss.
Special mention to the brilliant gym staff who superbly led us in yogs, pilates and a great nature walk...thanks guys.
All the staff were genuinely friendly and happy. Silk restaurant was superb and the little Rockfish restaurant close by was an added bonus.
We even wrote down the type of bed we slept on so that we can purchase one for our home as it was so perfect.
Andara was absolutely flawless...we loved it!

“Best Ever”

The property is great! We were staying in the residence with the pool on the roof. The residence was really too hugh for 2 people & it was so comfotable. The residence was facing the sea & the view was stunning. Defintely will come back again!

“Exquisite resort with fantastich service!”

This is the most exquisite resort I have been to so far. I have stayed in numerous resorts in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. This is truly the best. This trip was meant for my baby boy, Marcus's first year birthday.

Exceptionally spacious villa with pool, state-of-art kitchen facilities and BOSE sound system. We had a cosy stay and felt like home especially with the wonderful staff of Andara. Highly recommended for families. The Silk restaurant did not disappoint us with its excellent review. Their culinary skills are superb especially Thai food. We loved the Tom Yam Koong (extra spicy) - the best we tried in Phuket. In fact, I have recommended it to my Belgian colleague who was in Phuket 2 weeks before us to visit this restaurant and she did! It was a excellent dining experience for her and her husband who were staying next door, Cape Sienna.

Thank you for the birthday cake for Marcus. It is very meticulous for the resort to prepare baby toiletries and bath tub for Marcus. He enjoys the company of the restaurant staff and Yaya from the reception. Also, thank you to all staff we met during our stay - Yaya, Jenny, Cartoon, Wit, Lee and many more. I think Marcus's favorite service staff is the guy who is running the Andara beach club on Kamala beach.

Hope we will have the opportunity to visit Phuket and stay in Andara again!

Thanks to Andara's excellent hospitality for making our stay memorable!

“Best Resort in Asia”

Amazing Hotel, from the design to the location, and warm welcome by the GM. We stayed in a 2 bedroom pool residence, with our two young kids. It could not have been better, this hotel is going places. The rooms are massive, and as reported by others are very well laid out and decorated. Service around the resort is very friendly and not stiff like those big corporate hotels, special mention to Mady the driver who is fantastic. One point to note is NOT to use the local Taxis, we are told they do not have insurance, and are illegal, and we saw many of the taxi drivers drinking all day, for a few Baht more the hotel cars are much safer.

“Wonderful Stay”

This is our umpteenth trip to Phuket and each time the resorts we chose outdo themselves. But I think we will chose Andara for our next stay at Phuket. We were recommended to Andara by our holiday agent, I went to the website and it looks decent enough. When we arrived, we were all very pleasantly surprised. Our 3 bedroom Pool suite is spacious, clean, well appointed classical Thai designs with a large touch of modernity. The Living area, kitchen, laundry area were all well equipped with modern fixtures. Our nanny could whip up a meal for four easily and get all the laundry done. It was lovely. The Pool suite as I understand from the reception comes in 2,3,and 4 bedroom and personally I think it is very suitable for families with young or teenage children and you don't have to pack a ton of clothes cos there is a dryer in the laundry room. Other amenities like the main pool, a rather decent sized gym, a great in house restaurant and a lovely spa.

Prices within the hotel are definitely a little pricier but the spa and the restaurant Silk is worth a visit. Andara has a small gift shop, and the selection is exquisite. The beach at Kamala is not as good though, it is not a private beach although Andara guests have large private beach beds. There are three little eateries 10mins within the hotel that are worth visiting: White Orchid, Rock Fish and Sweet Dreams at Kamala Beach.

The beautiful setting at Andara Phuket and the staff really made this trip a lovely one!

“Jaw dropping luxury!”

Whisked away from airport in nice merc with bottled water and scented cool face towels. On approaching Andara, the sheer scale of the reception, you know that this is the beginning of something special. Booked a one bedroom pool suite but got upgraded to a four bedroom one, glad I booked off season! The lovely lady and another nice chap takes us up to our suite in a golf buggy. Opens the first door, large courtyard with tropical plants, large vases with water features. Is this all ours? Yup. Opens the door to the suite and WOW!! You've heard about the fine finishes so no point repeating it here. Commercial size kitched (could do with a laundry!), massive flat screen tellys hooked up to the best surround sound system I've heard. Even made Kylie sound good! Outside is 15m pool with 180 degree views of the Andaman Sea and Kamala Beach. It doesnt get better than this! Master bedroom, wardrobe room and bathroom bigger than my house! Then there's an outside shower! Best gym I've ever seen, with great guys on hand if you need help. Olympic size swimming pool not that you need it if you've got your own. Lovely natured staff who will attend to your every need. Best spa ever. Andrew the GM made the effort to catch up with us, he should be proud of what they have done there. You will not find better than this in all of Thailand, never mind Phuket. This place will get found out, so if you've got the budget, I'd do it sooner rather than later.

“Very, Very Good”

I stayed at Andara for a week in a villa. The resort is a fantastic 5 star property with excellent service. All the staff knew our names and if any thing were too efficient as you get to use to the impeccable service.
The Villa is massive, 6 beds all ensuite, 3 entertainment rooms, large kitchen, outside dining sala and a 20m infinity edge pool and 2 members of staff. Best of all are the views.
The resort has a first rate gym and has free yoga, Pilate and muay Thai classes on different mornings. The gym staff are great and they alternate with the staff at the beach club, which is a private section of beach which Andara have rented and have about 15 double day beds and an array of beach toys - ideal for my 14 month old. The beach is only a 10 - 15 minute walk but they do have open sided mini buses to ferry you about.
Kamala itself is far from 5 star, but it did seem cleaner than when i was there in the past. There are a couple of good restaurants - manubai, Rock Fish, Cape Sienna and of course SILK. Surin is just up the coast or Baan Rim Pla the other way.
It summing up, it is expensive but worth it.

“The one place for a luxurious and truly indulgent holiday”

Stayed 5 nights at the lovely Andara resort - the suite offers breathtaking views of Kamala beach and you'll feel as if you are in paradise with a dip in its infinity pool. The suite offers a kitchenette, huge living room and master bedroom with an interior decor that gives you a sense of traditional Thai living. Everyone who we met at the resort were friendly and hospitable, kudos to Andrew the GM and his team who've made our stay very enjoyable and definitely one to remember!

“Probably the best resort on the island...”

....We have just returned from a short break at the Andara Resort. After a friend mentioned the resort I looked on Trip Advisor and decided to book. We were not disappointed in any way. From the moment we were picked up from the airport until the moment we left we were pampered by the great team and were impressed with the quality of everything. We had a villa with its own pool and I would recommend that if you have kids to take one of those. The views are amazing as is the sunset from Surin beach - which you should visit for a cocktail at sunset at the bar on the Beach.
we met Andrew Whitteker the English GM, who seemed to always be around and very approachable. Visit this resort before the crowds do and I am sure you will enjoy it as much as we did. .....We are planning our next trip back already!!Thanks for a great and relaxing stay.

We stayed in Andara in mid August, what a wonderful experience! The hotel is brand new and there is still some construction going on but it’s very minor, just finishing touches here and there. The design of the hotel and the property is top notch, the beach is 5 minutes away by car and the hotel people will take you there and back. Right of the bat we got upgraded to penthouse suite (low season but still a nice gesture) which was very spacious with nice furniture and private infinity pool on the roof. The bed is super comfy with high quality linen. The hotel staff is extremely nice and helpful, always eager to help. Overall it was a wonderful stay and I would recommend this place very highly. Kudos to Andrew and his team!

“Andara - Best resort so far.”

After many trips, both business and pleasure, to Phuket, I can confidently say this is the best resort on the island. This trip was a family vacation with 3 children aged 13-18, stayed at Kata Beach for a week and then 4 days at Andara for some luxury. It certainly did not disappoint. The service was excellent from the time you arrived until your departure. We stayed in a Pool Villa which was fantastic, very modern, great design with plenty of room for the family to relax and enjoy. The fitness centre is top class. Silk is a great restaurant and breakfast each day was enjoyable, maybe a bit more of a selection would be good.
Thanks to Andrew and the team for an enjoyable stay.

“Luxury Experience at Andara in Kamala Beach”

I found the general manager Andrew Whitaker and all of the staff at Andara to be very warm and helpful during my four day stay in a three bedroom Penthouse Suite with roof top pool. I enjoyed all aspects of the Andara Resort and the professional staff helped make us feel comfortable and welcome. I would highly recommend the Andara Resort to all of my friends

“Love Phuket... LOVE, LOVE Andara Resort”

Have traveled to Phuket numerous times with my husband and two young children. Andara Resort and Villas "takes the cake" as far as lodging goes! Definitely a must stay! The suites are simply amazing with incredible views of the Andaman Sea. The private pool is a must for children like ours who are ready to jump into their day well before their parents as well as for relaxing in at the end of the day. Silk restaurant not only offers convenience as the resort restaurant, but splendid Thai cuisine and fabulous cocktails. With attentive, professional service by the friendly staff, this is the top resort in our book and will be the one that accommodates our family in future visits to Phuket!

“The hardest part was leaving”

Four of us (two couples) visited for a 3 night break. We had booked a 2 bedroom pool villa but found on arrival that we had been upgraded to a 3 bedroom penthouse with roof top pool. The living area was huge with a balcony with sea views across the bay. The kitchen was probably the best equipped we've seen, complete with Gaggia coffee machine. Amazing master bedroom /bathroom suite. The restaurant served both Thai and western food but the Thai food was much better value and everything we had was lovely. The staff were amazing, genuinely friendly and welcoming. The resort does not have its own beach on site but they have one a short distance away and transport is provided. The spa was also very pleasant, we had relaxing massages. It was very quiet while we were there which suited us very well but if you were looking for shops and nightlife on the doorstep it might be a bit too quiet for you. It is built on quite a steep slope so could prove a challenge for anyone with mobility problems although they do have golf buggies readily available for transport within the property. The resort is quite new so all the furnishings and fittings were in top condition and there was abundant use of wood and many Asian decorative touches. We would highly recommend Andara to anyone wanting a touch of peaceful Thai luxury.

“6 star resort”

We picked Andara due to the reviews on Tripadvisor and booked directly with the Hotel, we could not have been more pleased with the our week long holiday.
My wife and I as well as our son, were warmly welcomed at the airport and fast tracked through the airport. Andara is a very special resort and unlike
any other we have stayed at before in Phuket or Bali. The rooms as other reviews have mentioned are spectacular, and finished to the highest standard.
Service around the resort and at SILK the restaurant were really great, friendly warm and discreet. I like to work out and the gym at Andara is no normal hotel gym, it has all the equipment that a membership Club would have plus more. Overall Andara deserves to be 6 star it is just the best. We cannot wait to go back at Christmas

"Far from the Maddening Crowd”

Andara Phuket is located on the quiet Kamala beach and was a home away from home for us. The excellent service started even before we got to the hotel! We had staff pick us as soon as we got off the plane and zoomed through immigration (fast track is what they call this service). My husband and I were awed by the size of the apartment (the pool suite), complete with Bose sound systems, huge TV sets in living and bedroom, and a fully equipped kitchen for us to cook our meals for baby. It rained quite a lot during the trip but because it was so nice indoors, we weren't too disappointed when we couldn't go out. We had a small personal infinitely pool and the view of the ocean was gorgeous. The staff were very helpful, and wanted to ferry us everywhere. It was a major plus that they liked babies and it was low season, so we could always have a nice slow breakfast (and other meals) in their Silk restaurant, because someone would carry the baby for us. Liked it that it was nice and quiet as we wanted a place to relax. All in all, a fabulous stay! We wished we could have stayed longer than four days.

“Amazing Resort”

Andara is a wonderful resort. Excellent food. Make sure to dine at there restaurant "Silk" a few times. It is by far the best restaurant in Phuket. If you want privacy, do not book your room in BLOCK 1, the rooms are overlooking the main road and you NOT have any privacy and good luck on relaxing in the infinity pool if people are always looking up onto your BLOCK 1 Suite. All the other rooms are great. The suite with the pool are a must. A lot of construction was going on everyday. It seems like they have built this property in phases and they are continually building and renovating. The noise can be upsetting if you looking for peace and quite as we did for our honeymoon.
The beach is 5 minutes away using there shuttle. Kamala beach is not a superfine white beach one would expect ( no turks and caicos white silky sand here). Surin beach is much better for sand (twin palms and amanpuri).

No resort in Phuket can compare to Andara for room and food quality.
If your going to stay on the resort then go with this property.

phi phi island day tour is nice to see. expect a lot of other tour boats around. no privacy, its definitely a tourist trap but I guess if your there go check it out.

“Best Hotel in Phuket, pure luxury HOT HOT HOT”

Andara is a new hot hotel ( according to the www) we stayed with our kids for 5 nights, and could not have been happier, this hotel is fantastic, we have stayed at Aman before and this beats it hands down. Pat the driver is the best , he picked us up from the airport, and spoke good English. The rooms are just amazing, we have never seen such large rooms, free wifi, and great Food at SILK. Andara has a nice Spa which we used a couple of times, We used the hotel cars all the item as we have read about the mafia style local taxis, and it was def a good decision as the hotel cars are very nice and the Pat looked after us with a nice SMILE. Well done Andara we will be back soon.

“Second Visit to Kamala Beach Paradise”

This was my second stay at Andara Resort and this time we had a two bedroom penthouse pool suite and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay over the six days. I would highly recommend you stay at Andara and enjoy the pleasure of the resort. This time we attended a wine tasting with delicious appetizers just before dining in Silk the excellent restaurant at the resort.

I am looking forward to my next stay at this beautiful resort.

"Perfect , relaxing break thoroughly recommended”

We stayed at this property between 10 July and 15 July 2010. and chose it due to previous reviews. I can well understand why it is rated # 1 as it ticked all the boxes .This time of year is the "off-season" for Phuket and the hotel had a very low occupancy , however the service standards did not suffer and we cant speak highly enough of the attentive staff and their willingness to please and assist . The room we had was a one bedroom pool suite which was enormous and very well appointed . Silk restaurant is excellent and whilst it is the only restarant in the hotel this is'nt a problem. Access to other restaurants is no difficulty we did'nt tire of the menu or food . We will gladly stay at this resort again and look forward to returning to Phuket. Thankyou to all the staff and management for making our holiday complete.

Everything you could possibly need to enjoy a carefree, relaxing family holiday...the staff were superb enhancing an already wonderful experience.

“Up there with the best”

We stayed in the new Andara suites - what a fantastic, if expensive, space. Our own private chef, pool (a proper pool, not a plunge pool!) with one of the best Thai restaurants (Silk) on site as well.

Unsurprisingly, the place felt brand new (I believe it has only just opened) and the reception, rooms, spa and gym were all beyond reproach. They also have a wonderful navette service to take you to and from Kamala beach.

The suites themselves are massive. Our master bedroom, dressing room and bathroom alone must have been over 100sq.m and the others aren't that far behind. Views are straight outt over Kamala bay and the loaction is incredibly convienent.

I would urge any international guest to take up the US$50 VIP immigration service to by-pass the chaos at immigration at Phuket airport (another great touch).

“Doesn't get any better than this!”

My fiancee & I have spent many vacations staying at different resorts around the region, but the standard set by the Andara would be hard to top. I must say though, that it didn't get off to a good start because the room we were allocated turned out to be right next to the main road by the resort entrance, with a view of telegraph poles & cables; and it didn't help that there was roadworks going on during the time we were there. Thankfully, the staff were very understanding & helpful when we requested for another room & this being low season, fortunately, they were able to give us several options.
To cut a long story short, the alternative accommodations were more than impressive and certainly overcame any dissatisfaction we may have initially had. Mind you, i doubt if that could have been possible during the high season!
The resort is not cheap, but the facilities & service were absolutely top-notch and I think offered great value for what you pay. The staff are a credit to the establishment with their poise, initiative & ready smiles. The rooms/suites/villas are huge & luxuriously furnished & while it's not one of those cutting-edge, designer showhouses, one can't help but be impressed with its quiet - almost modest - & understated style.
The location is fantastic, if you want to just relax & escape the crowds & tourist traps in the nearby town, yet you're only a 10minute shuttle ride away. We ended up spending most of our time in the resort!

It was a great stay with nice spacious clean rooms, dvds to rent out to watch, friendly staff who provided much information on what to do in phuket, close to kamala beach which offers a quiet respite compared to the more crowded patong beach... was only put off by the many mosquitoes in the hotel in spite of lots of insect repellant sprayed on..

This all-suite property is idealy located 40 minutes from Phuket Airport.
Air-side pick-up is a nice touch followed by a 4x4 limo to the hotel.
The rooms are huge with full amenities including kitchen. We had a pool villa which was exceptional. Good build quality.
Silks, the restaurant, is Thai & italian. Good menu, not over complicated. The Thai food is fantastic.
Staff are very accommodating and super-friendly, nothing is too much trouble.
Over all this is a super little property for those who want a luxury retreat in Phuket.

“Holiday from heaven!!!!”

It took me some 4 weeks to finally decide where to spend our precious three days in Phuket and I am so happy I chose Andara. From the minute we stepped off the plane to the time we checked in to come back home, our Andara experience was one of the best we have ever experienced in the world. (and we have travelled to many parts of the world).
Being greeted at the airport on arrival, our VIP exit through immigration and transfer to the resort was unbelievable. Check in at the resort was professional, yet friendly and then our three days began. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Silks restaurant (located at the resort), certainly stood up to its standard of being the best in Phuket. The villa we stayed in was incredibly roomy with all the facilities you could wish for. We were fortunate enough to have a villa with private pool. Andara's beach club is an experience all on its own. All I can say is a big thank you to Monthip and her staff for making this one of the best holidays we have ever had

“Pure Indulgence”

I bid for a weekend at Andara in a charity auction earlier this year. My sister, niece and another friend were visiting from New Zealand, so all 4 of us checked into a stunning 3 bedroom apartment with views over the ocean.

The apartments have every mod con you need and are perfect for entertaining. The fit out, quality and modern thai style are exceptional. Each room is spacious with it's own ensuite bathroom. My family were astounded at how luxurious everything was.

From the moment we arrived we were thoroughly taken care of in every respect. At the press of a button we had everything we needed, whether it was room service, the buggy to pick us up or make an appointment at the spa. We had no water in one of the bathrooms during the weekend and it was fixed quietly and efficiently in half an hour.

The food at Silk Restaurant is world class and always has been a favourite of mine. We could choose between thai or international cuisine with a great kid's menu, which we also sampled :)

My 9 year old niece spent alot of time in the 40m pool with her friends and the staff were extremely attentive to their needs, bringing fruit, water and snacks throughout the day.

We had guests over for lunch on the Sunday by the main pool and it is the perfect location for entertaining, with the outdoor bar, sunloungers, chill out music and great service and presentation.

I booked my sister and her friend into the couple's suite at the spa for a massage and they were in 7th heaven.

We popped down to the beach club just nearby on Kamala Beach for a few hours one morning and were transported in a very cute openair stretch buggy. We could leave at any time with a buggy arriving in just 5 minutes.

We were locked in with rain one day, so raided the DVD library with all the latest movies for kids and adults and watched them on the big screen with surround sound. In fact there were TV's in every room, and a DVD player in the master bedroom so we didn't all have to watch the same thing.

We were given a late check out at no extra cost. There was nothing more we could have wished for and it was very difficult to leave at the end of the weekend. I am now planning to have a farewell party for my family at Andara before they head back to New Zealand and will highly recommend Andara to anyone visiting Phuket.

“We immedietely knew we made the right choice for our stay in Phuket.”

We were immedietly very pleased with our room choice of the pool villa, large kitchen, private sparkeling infinity pool with a breathtaking view, even in suite laundry ammeneties. Then we started to experience some issues, such as no hot water, which took almost 2 hours to fix. This was remedied with a free dinner at the wonderful restaraunt, which we felt very satisfied with. However the next day, we were awakened to loud construction happening in the suite above us, so once again we expressed our dissapointment and thehotel staff assured us we would be compensated some how. The construction was immedietely halted and hours later we were escorted to the Presidential suite, which was way above our expectations. This gesture was so grande and generous, I can't recall ever being so completely satisfied with customer service in my life, and we can't express enough the high quality of service we received dailey throughout the resort. Every employee we encountered at Andara was warm and genuinely hospitable. We enjoyed the free wine tasteing in the afternoons, a ralaxing massage at the spa, and the all you can eat tapas on Sundays, when we could tear ourselves away from the stunning villa we were staying in. We will never forget our amazing vacation at Andara and will definately be staying with them again.

“Some things Exceptional, Other things not so good”

Myself and partner stayed at Andara for 7 nights after reading the exceptional reviews we had read on trip advisor. We have stayed at many 5 star Resorts and i would say this one is up around the top of the list but still has alot of work to do.
Upon checking in at 2.30pm we were told our room was not ready and that we would have to wait 40 minutes, we chose to wait by the pool bar and after finishing our first drinks were told we were only entiltled to one free drink.Only a minor issue but really it was very hot and i would have expected them to cover this bill since we were only there because our room was not ready.
Once we were taken to our room i was less then impressed.I had booked a pool suite,On arrival we were told we had been given an upgrade to a penthouse suite due to the delay, The penthouse suite was in block one right on the road where alot of road works were happening, the pool is on the rooftop which is not what i wanted, when i asked to be taken to my original booking we were told there was none available and would have to wait to the following afternoon. In fact we had not really been upgraded it was just more convenient for them. Not really good enough when i could'nt even have the room i had booked more then 2 months ago.And not a very good first impression.
However the following afternoon when were taken to block 5 pool suite we were much happier,The view is lovely except the pool in the front is reallly not very private like we had been assured.
There was also a really bad smell in the bathroon that never really went away even after houskeeping had been, kind of a Musty smell or poor drainage.
Silk, fantastic food and the Pool Bar Fantastic cocktails at very reasonable prices for a 5 star property.Beach club staff Superb!! We had a terrible pizza from room service but other then that the food was great. Had to wait quite a few times towards the end of our stay for 10 mins down at the beach after the buggy had been called, not a big deal but at the start of our stay they were there by the time we had strolled up the path, it doesnt sound like long but in 38 degree heat it seems forever!!
We had a late flight and were given a late checkout till 4pm which is pretty much unheard of and we were very grateful.
The roadwork going on out the front is very unattractive and i think its terrible they would even book out any rooms in block 1 whilst that is going on let alone try to tell you you are getting an upgrade to try and sweeten the deal of staying in block 1
We are returning to Thailand again shortly but will i stay at Andara again??, i really don't know if it lived up to the hype we had read about. We tossed up between the Aman puri and Andara so maybe i would give that a go first.

This new resort certainly deserves its accolades in terms of design and amenities. For a new property, I was amazed at the maturity of the plantings - everything was lush and green and well-designed. The interiors of my penthouse suite were extravagant, with many touches that made me feel like I was a guest in someone's home, rather than in an anonymous hotel room.
At booking time, I was assured that the pool area was private, but I was disappointed to discover that the small rooftop pool was in full view of the rest of the resort, which stood above my room.
The food was excellent, especially the Thai menu, and I was happy to take almost every meal at the hotel's Silk restaurant whilst I was there.
My only gripe was that the hotel had ordered the removal of unsightly overheard cables during my stay. This involved noisy road works which began at 830am, with dredging that went on all day. When I complained, I was kindly moved to a villa (time-share-owned) in the compound further up, and away from the noise.
This turned out to be an enormous 3-bedroom property (2 rooms were locked up) with stunning views and more than ample living space. Unfortunately, the villa below me was being renovated, which meant banging and knocking, but with that view, and the upgrade, how could I complain?

“Truly Magnificent”

It is seldom that I took a trip outside of Singapore and I am so glad that I'd made the decision to send a bit more to stay at the Andara. The stay was marvelous and truly rejuvinates me. Wonderful interiors, very good service and some excellent dining too, must recommend the hotel's Silk Restaurant for the truly authentic Thai food and reasonably priced too for a luxury resort and hotel.

Met up with the Resort's GM (Andrew Whitaker). Wonderful man and truly a professional.
service and some excellent dining too, His operational staff are attentive yet unobstrusive.

I am a hotelier by profession and I will defintely recommend the Andara for a relaxing holiday and a perfect corpoarte retreat.

Cannot wait for my return trip later this year :)

What a fantastic find, we could not have been more well looked after during our 7 night stay at this fantastic new hotel.
The staff never stopped smiling and became are friends very quickly.
As other reviewers have commented the rooms are in fact suites, and are massive, true luxury, we did not want to leave the room.
This is not your typical cookie cutter resort Hotel, it has been designed to be very welcoming and homey.
My partner and I loved this hotel and have told all our friends and will be back.

Andara is without a doubt the best luxury resort hotel we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in the best. I cannot say enough positive things about this new resort. We booked a Villa and WOW did get something special. The Villa was massive with its own pool, spa and games room. The Villa staff were fantastic and the Cook unbelievable, so good in fact, that during our 10 night stay we only ate out twice. This resort is destined for greatness. We have booked for Christmas already.

“Pure Luxury”

This was a very special vacation for us and very enjoyable on every single day. Very attentive and friendly staff. Absolutely quiet and stunning views over the bay of Kamala. Very spacious rooms, especially comfortable for tall and big people. Difficult to find on our vacations in Thailand before.

“There is no better place to stay anywhere in the world”

I have travelled all corners of the globe and been lucky to stay in some of the the nicest resorts, including Maldives, Mauritius, Mexico, Caribben. Andara is without doubt the most complete luxury offering anywhere. The rooms are cavernous suites, larger then most of our houses and the villas are quite extraordinary (I visited a 4 bed villa). We stayed in the hotel suites, the pool villa being our favourite. Massive rooms, beautifully appointed, and with 2 bathrooms and separate bedrooms this is a family tastic resort.

Being located just outside Kamala gives you the best of both worlds. Incredible views and yet a short ride (complimentary anytime of day) in one of their great beach cars (no sides (you feel like royalty coming in to town) to Kamala.

The main swimming pool is stunning, the gym is top notch and there are 2 great tennis courts.

Staff are so friendly and very efficient.

This resort deserves to be right up there with the world's best and pound for pound beats the bigger brand names hands down. Look no further. You will not be disappointed, as this resort really does have the WOW factor.

“Andara, a world of luxury.............”

From the moment you arrive at Andara and are met by the most polite & courteous Front Desk Staff [special mention to Cartoon, from the Front Desk] right through to the staff throughout the resort, you feel as you part of a large family rather than just a guest in a resort.
Each greeting is met with a warm & sincere smile as you wander through the luxurious resort.
I have stayed at many resorts throughout Phuket including a number of 5 star resorts, but Andara is a level above any of those!

Andara is what all new resorts in Phuket will now be judged by!

The splendar of the Pool Villas sets a standard not matched by any other resorts currently in Phuket. Furthermore the family villas futher enhance the richness of the resort with their well planned bedrooms and bathrooms that cater for the largest families or groups. Have a meal prepared by a personal chef in your own private kitchen and set alongside your own private infinity pool or venture into Phuket's number one restarautnt, Silk for that special romantic evening.
After a nights rest venture into the modern gym for a workout before breakfast or head off to the SPA for some pampering before deciding whether to relax by your private pool or take the private bus to Kamala Beach, where you have beach lounges, umbrellas and your own Life Guard on hand, in Andara's own beaqch area.
There is only one regret with Andara & that is eventually you must leave, but knowing that you will return!!

Just been to visit Andara Resort in Phuket and it has to be the nicest resort I have ever stayed at in Thailand. It was pure heaven. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff (check-in, restaurant and around pool/resort all fantastic). The views from the rooms are amazing and the rooms themselves as luxurious as anything you will find anywhere in Thailand (or maybe the whole of south-east asia). Can't recommend this place enough and will certainly be back again soon.

Fantastic views, fantastic private pool, best room ever . .

The panoramic view of sea and hills from every room in Andara is one of this new resort’s key attractions, along with comfort, serenity, exclusivity and smiling service.
Choose from pool villas or pool suites, which are located in two- or three-storey buildings strategically placed to ensure privacy. Rooms are most generously proportioned, with plenty of room for lounging indoors and out. Our ground-floor 2-bedroom suite had a huge dining and living area, a big Western-style kitchen, a master suite with massive dressing area and bathroom, an ample second bedroom, a decked outdoor terrace large enough to hold a breakfast table and chairs, six sunbeds, two daybeds and another daybed stationed in the shallow end of the beautiful black-tiled, stone-edged infinity pool. Teak predominates for the large, sturdy furniture and fittings, interspersed with Jim Thompson silk-clad panels and Thai statues, sculptures and artifacts, all artistically displayed. Swimming in the large infinity pool with views of Kamala bay beyond is like swimming at the top of the world. As the property’s marketing literature says, this is your own private paradise. Order room service and you never have to leave . . .

Once In A LifeTime Experience !

exceptionally impressed by the reception once I got out from the plane. Was welcome & greeted by the staff whom shown us to the check-out point immediately. The Villa itself is awesome. Great view of which I stayed. Love the private pool especially. The staff were friendly and always be there for you. Great place ! All the plus but no minus from me. I would be ready to go back once a year for a getaway. Well done !

A sanctuary, no less

It was the word "go" from arrival. Andara's airport meeting service was efficient and smooth the moment we arrived at the airport. Hand over the passport and the Andara staff took care of everything. We arrived at the resort on their very smart (and very clean)white coloured SUV (sports version) and were quickly escorted to our 3 bedroom villa accommodation. Has plenty of space in the bedrooms and living and dining area. And the view of the bay was simply magnificient!. Only regret was that I had to share this view with two other guys instead of my wife. (next time will bring the wife). One can choose to have private or communal moments in the villa as there is is more than sufficient space. Sleek flat screen TVs in all rooms and a huge one in the living area complete with Bose system. I like Andara also because of the terrain which adds to the character of the place. Unfortunately, we stayed for just one night so did not have the opportunity to dine at the Silk restaurant, which I heard was very good. Neither did we have time to dip into the main pool or the private plunge pool that came with the villa. That's another reason for a return visit! The resort was running quite full but due to the layout we did not see too many other guests....this is ideal for those who are looking for peace and quietness or privacy. Summary: A truly lovely place to unwind after a mad day in Patong (which incidentally is not too far away).

The view over Kamala Bay is out of this world

We could not fault this brand new hotel. From the welcome by the General Manager to the room, which in fact was a suite, to the food and service to die for in the Silk. If you want the nightlife of Patong it's only 15 mins by car. We would recommend to use the hotel cars, a bit more expensive but as the local taxis seem to be all jalopys, and we were told that were not insured, the hotel cars were worth it. Our driver Maddy was great, and spoke good English. We have told our friends who we understand have already booked.

Congratulations to the General Manager and his team for a well organised and welcoming resort. We had a wonderful experience, incredible staff, especially at the reception, well appointed rooms, excellent Food and Beverage facilities and the rest from A to Z. .
I will definitely recommend the Andara resort to my friends and business associates.
Once again Thank for to the Management and staff and see you soon.

A paradise filled with delights and staff to match!

First impressions are important, and the Andara Resort and Villas did not disappoint.
You are greeted by the most amazing elevated view of Kamala beach (by far the best in the area) as the light sea breezes waft across your huge private pool in the attractive landscaped garden. The interior is spacious and tastefully appointed and the staff are brilliant. Our chef Porn, whipped up truly tasty curries and the most beautifully carved fruit.
The only thing missing was an in house stocked bar. Probably a good thing!

Simply a private paradise to lose yourself in...

A splendid place for a rejuvenating hideaway. Enjoyed the enormous 2-bedroom penthouse pool suite - so huge you can play hide and seek in! Excellent service from concierge to restaurant to buggy drivers. The chauffeured buggy is free to use at your disposal -24hr. What impressed me is being able to call the concierge from any of the restaurant in kamala you are dining from and get the buggy driver to fetch you back to the resort. Thankful for the free high-speed wifi Internet access everywhere - including at the Silk restaurant where I'm posting this review while having my breakfast. Best of all, the view from the balcony overlooking Kamala is just breathtaking. Also, there's a private beach club so you can enjoy some exclusivity and away from the rowdy beach bummers. With such privacy and indulgence, this place is the best choice for honeymooners! Good for families too and the residence is fully equipped with everything you need.

Fantastic and outstanding quality

We booked via the hotel www site which was easy and efficient. Wow! this resort is new and is going to give the more established high end resort a run for their money, especially the massive size of their luxurious suites faultless, high quality finishes with large screen TVs in all rooms including free wifi. The excellent staff treated our young daughter like family throughout our stay. "Silk" the Thai restaurant, fantastic food, outstanding quality and service, must be the best in Phuket. Can"t wait to return in June to relax by the beach with my Martini
