Covid-19 Policies as of 1 November 2021

At Andara Resort & Villas, the well-being and safety of our guests, team and community is at the centre of all priorities, without compromising our renowned personal services.

Our team reviews the latest health and safety compliance standards together with our local and international health experts, creating our updated health and safety program, including stringent health protocols and safety measures throughout our guest journeys to ensure they are ready to explore Phuket with confidence.

As always, your private paradise is enhanced by Andara’s modern Thai spaciously designed all-suite and private villa accommodations, expansive lush resort, and discreet service.


 Starting November 1, Thailand has allowed fully vaccinated travelers who are traveling by air from low-risk and only eligible countries for quarantine-free travel under the new Test and Go Program.

The Test and Go program are for those travellers who will not undergo quarantine, you will only need to be tested upon arrival in your booked hotel and you can go if you received a negative result. You are eligible for quarantine-free travel to Thailand, if you are:

With TEST & GO, there’s no need to stay in a designated hotel for 7, 10, or 14 days. 1 day is enough for you to stay in a hotel and do a COVID-19 test. If you have received the RT-PCR COVID-19 test with a negative result, you are allowed to freely travel everywhere in Thailand.

Test and Go Requirements for Entry

Even though you are a fully vaccinated traveler, from an approved country traveler, and are traveling by air traveler, you are still required to show required documents to Thai authorities to be granted entry in Thailand.

  • Thailand Pass QR Code
    • QR Code received upon approval after applying for a Thailand Pass
    • Provide all the necessary details and upload documents that are asked and wait for confirmation or approval for you to receive a QR Code which will be scanned upon arrival in Thailand
  • Certificate of Vaccination
    • Obtain a Certificate of Vaccination for proof that you are a fully vaccinated traveler
    • Vaccine must be approved by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) or by the World Health Organization (WHO), and at least 14 days before your scheduled travel date
    • For children that are under the age of 12, they will not be required to be vaccinated as long as their parent or guardian is vaccinated and have a certificate of vaccination

  • To enter Thailand, you are required to have a negative result RT-PCR test, issued within 72 hours before the travel date
  • If you have just recovered from COVID-19, you will need a Certificate of Recovery. It will serve as proof that you have recovered from COVID-19 at least 3 months already.

COVID-19 Insurance

  • Proof of COVID-19 insurance must have a minimum coverage of US$50,000.

Payment Confirmation of Phuket SHA+ Hotels
In the case of Test and Go travelers, you are required to book a hotel for at least 1 night, and must include

  • RT-PCR COVID-19 Test
  • SHA+ Accommodation for at least 1 night
  • SHA+ Transport to transfer from the airport to your designated hotel

 The Living in the “Blue Zone” program allows vaccinated international travellers with a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR lab result to travel quarantine free to Phuket from any countries.

With the Sandbox program in place, Team Andara welcomes you back to your Phuket home as of July 1, 2021 under the following updated November 1, 2021 conditions (note, all terms are subjective to change according to government mandates):

  • Travel by air from any countries around the world
  • Stay the first 7 nights at your designated SHA+ hotel within on the 17 Blue Zone Sandbox Destinations if planning to continue the journey to other destinations in Thailand
  • A Certificate of Vaccination (fully vaccinated) with an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling, see approved list of vaccines.
  • Those previously infected within 3 months must have received 1 dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before travelling to Thailand
  • Travellers under 18 years of age, travelling with parents or guardians, are exempt from the vaccination requirement
  • A Medical Certificate with an RT-PCR lab result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected issued no more than 72 hours before travelling (all travellers)
  • A confirmed payment for SHA+ accommodation, and RT-PCR test
  • An insurance policy with coverage no less than US$50,000

Applying for a Thailand Pass

  1. Register for a Thailand Pass at (available from 1 November, 2021).
  2. Upload the required document (along with the valid visa/re-entry permit, if required), and allow 3-5 working days for the approval process. Wait for the approval of the Vaccine Certification and paid accommodation, including the RT-PCR test.
  3. Confirm the approval and receive a Thailand Pass QR Code

Arrival in Phuket

4. Present the Thailand Pass QR Code (or COE) to the Health Control to carry out checks, then proceed through the Immigration procedures.
5. Undergo the RT-PCR COVID-19 test at the pre-arranged test centre in Phuket Airport. (Children aged under 6 years have a saliva test.)
6.  Proceed to the hotel by the pre-arranged SHA+ airport transfer
7. Download and install the MorChana application at the hotel.
8. Wait for the test result within the hotel room.

Sanitisation and Safety

We are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization’s statements regarding COVID-19 health and safety guidelines and local health departments and working with our partner Ecolab, a global recognized hygiene expert, to adjust and redevelop our existing safety and hygiene standards to the current situation ensuring a healthy and safe environment for our guests and teams.

 Personalized Care

We are in this together, and offering our guests the following enhancements to assist throughout the journey:


  • Warm welcome by our employees, with alternate methods of check-in available (pre-arrival details, in suite or villa check-in)
  • Welcome drink and sanitation amenities upon arrival
  • Cleaning and disinfecting of your luggage upon arrival, before delivery to your suite or villa

Rooms & Amenities

  • Elevated cleaning and disinfection standards in which includes hygiene amenities (hand sanitizers in-room, masks upon request)
  • Pool Villa guests enjoy private dining by your dedicated health and safety trained personal villa chef and villa attendant. Each pool villa is entirely private, and our staff is happy to arrange grocery shopping services
  • Each of our Suite accommodations feature a fully equipped kitchen should you wish to cook in the comfort of your suite, with grocery shopping and private chef services available at a surcharge

Fitness Centre, Tennis Court, Main Pool & Andara Spa

  • Keep up your immune system and fitness levels up and train in our gym with a wide range of cardio and weight equipment
  • Throughout the Fitness Centre, including our yoga studio, changing room and shower areas, social distancing measures are implemented, with rigorous cleaning and disinfection protocols
  • Outdoor tennis court available to guests is open
  • Andara Spa has enhanced hygiene and cleaning processes in place, without compromising the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, please book at least 2 hours in advance to ensure enough time between appointments
  • The resort pool is spaciously laid out to enjoy social distancing, or simply enjoy your private pool in most suite types and all pool villas for your convenience

  • All team members undergo mandatory health and safety training to ensure a safe work environment, and as of June 2021, nearly 100% of our team has completed their Covid-19 vaccine (2 doses)
  • The health and safety of our team members is at the forefront, with wellness checks and mandatory personal protective equipment per local guidelines enforced
  • Daily temperature taken for all visitors and team members
  • Head of department team leads to implement and oversee all new standards, processes, and trainings


  • Respectively relax and indulge on Andara’s award winning dining options in the privacy of your suite or villa
  • Frequent & scheduled sanitisation protocol is followed at SILK Restaurant & Bar and its public areas, with option to dine al fresco on SILK’s outdoor terrace

 Flexible Booking

  • We have also updated our reservation policy to provide you with more flexibility and assurance, with free change of date for confirmed bookings, up to fourteen (14) days prior to arrival for stays before December 23, 2021 ; date changes subject to availability and may result in rate changes.
